Product Care

At Återvinna, we are committed to creating sustainable furniture pieces that are both luxurious and timeless. Here's how you can care for your furniture to ensure its longevity and beauty:

Timber

All our timber furniture is finished with Fidders Hard Wax oil, a blend of natural oils and waxes that provide durability and resistance. Fidders is safe for humans and animals when dry, and it is classified as food safe, making it suitable for application on children's toys.

Your solid timber furniture is a natural product that will respond to changes in its environment. Timber products may expand or contract due to temperature and humidity fluctuations, which can occasionally result in small cracks within or between the boards. This is a normal characteristic and adds to the unique charm of each piece.

To minimise movement in the timber, avoid placing the furniture near radiators, central heating ducts, direct sunlight, or fireplaces. Your furniture should not be placed outside.

While our furniture can withstand the heat from coffee cups and dinner plates, it is not designed to tolerate higher temperatures from dishes heated on stovetops or in conventional or microwave ovens. Please avoid placing hot items like oven trays or casserole dishes directly on the surfaces, and take care with abrasive objects that can cause scratching, such as pottery.

While our furniture is mostly water-resistant, it cannot tolerate excessive amounts of liquid. Promptly dry any spills to prevent potential damage.

Cleaning

You can wipe down the timber with any gentle, non-abrasive cleaning product. We recommend avoiding harsh chemicals as they may affect the finish of your piece. Natural cleaning products are preferred as they are better for your furniture and the environment.

Using lukewarm soapy water on a cloth or sponge to lightly clean your furniture is also acceptable. Remember to follow up with a dry cloth immediately and avoid leaving the surface wet. Be cautious when using a cloth that may get stuck in the textures of the timber.
