Recycled Messmate

Messmate, scientifically know as Eucalyptus obliqua, is a native Australian hardwood frequently associated with Tasmanian Oak and Victorian Ash. Each piece of Messmate timber radiates character, showcasing distinctive gum veins and a robust grain. Its colour spectrum ranges from a gentle pale brown to a light yellow with subtle hints of peach. 

Every individual plank of Messmate timber is truly unique, prompting us to engage with clients during the order process to understand their preferences for natural character.

In line with our commitment to sustainability, we predominantly work with recycled Messmate. Typically salvaged from residential and commercial sites, recycled Messmate undergoes a transformative journey from its previous life to become a repurposed marvel. Embracing the original features of salvaged timber, such as nail or pin holes, adds an intriguing layer of history to each creation. 

Tasmanian Blackwood

Sustainably sourced Tasmanian Blackwood, scientifically known as Acacia melanoxylon, is a native Australian hardwood originating from Tasmania. 

Characterised by a rich, dark brown hue with streaks of hazelnut and occasional reddish undertones, Tasmanian Blackwood showcases a distinctive figure and fine grain.
